Murder Sudoku
A murder mystery logic puzzle: place every suspect on the floor plan, one per row and column, and unmask the killer.
How to play
Someone has been murdered in the mansion, and every suspect is still somewhere on the floor plan. Your job is to work out exactly where each person — and the victim — is standing. Like sudoku, there is exactly one person in every row and every column. Nobody can stand on a table, bookshelf, piano or plant, but people can sit on chairs, beds and rugs. Each person has clues such as “Rosa is in the Kitchen”, “Hugo is next to a piano” or “Ivy is somewhere above Otto”. Combine the clues with the row and column rule to place everyone. The killer is the only suspect who is alone in a room with the victim — when the board is complete, the culprit is revealed. Pick a person in the cast bar, then tap a cell to place them; tap them again to pick them up. Long-press or right-click a cell to mark it with ✕ as a reminder that nobody can be there. Every case is generated and checked by a solver to have exactly one solution, reachable by logic alone. Cases come in Easy 6×6, Medium 7×7 and Hard 8×8, and you can play as many as you like — each size has its own leaderboard for the fastest solve times.
Tips
- Start with clues that pin a person to one room or one row — they cut the board down fastest.
- Use the row and column rule constantly: once someone is placed, their whole row and column are closed to everyone else.
- The victim’s room holds exactly one suspect. If two people must share a room, the victim can’t be there.
- Someone who is “alone in a room” rules out their whole room for everyone else.
- Hints place one person correctly but add 30 seconds to your time, so try a few deductions first.
